Platform Infrastructure Manager

role overview

Being the Platform Infrastructure Manager you will be responsible for monitoring all aspects of the Algorand infrastructure to ensure that it is scalable, robust and secure. The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable about the various facets of running distributed infrastructure, and be able to provide support to external parties when needed. The major infrastructure components that fall under the purview of this role include protocol nodes (both relays and consensus-running nodes), API providers, block explorers, custodians, exchanges, and wallets.

responsibilities

• Manage the relationships and serve as the point of contact for all infrastructure-related questions and issues for service providers, partners, grantees, and the Algorand community in general
• Ensure the proper functioning of Foundation’s own nodes
• Manage and coordinate existing infrastructure programs, such as the relay-node programs
• Design, set up and manage new infrastructure programs as required, with cross-functional team collaboration
• Devise and maintain emergency plans related to the infrastructure, ensuring operational excellence, and high availability
• Maintain and update the SOP with regard to how to operate nodes and other infrastructure services

requirements

• Strong technical background in networking and back-end infrastructure. You are able to set up servers, solve problems, and provide technical support
• Strong technical knowledge of Linux/CLI
• Eager to learn about blockchain, understand how blockchain infrastructure works and how to keep it scalable, robust and secure
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to manage and coordinate with many stakeholders
• Ability to meet deadlines and to work independently
• Ability to design and execute processes to manage various programs

GOOD TO HAVE

• Genuine interest and familiarity with crypto
• Experience managing nodes and distributed systems
• Experience with monitoring software (Grafana, ELK, …)
