Blockchain data is purported to be public, but deep, granular, and historical blockchain data is still almost impossible to access.
Covalent is on a mission to bring full transparency and visibility to all blockchain networks and we are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to help us. As a DevOps Engineer, you'll be working with the wider engineering team on the design, deployment and continuous improvement of the infrastructure that powers the industry-leading Covalent API. Your KPIs will be developer productivity and product reliability as we scale our product, team and customers.
Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, we are looking for someone who is entrepreneurial, self-directed and enthusiastic about the blockchain space.
This is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a fast-moving startup working with cutting-edge technology. The successful candidate would be joining at a pivotal moment in the firm's history, with the capacity for high impact at Covalent. Covalent is funded by leading venture capitalists and has 400+ customers globally.
responsibilities
requirements
- 5+ years professional experience as a DevOps/Site Reliability Engineer/Platform Engineer or similar role
- A deep understanding of designing and operating large-scale, multi-region, globally distributed production systems
- Experience working with AWS, GCP and other cloud infrastructure in general
- Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code and container orchestration systems (eg: Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Openshift, Terraform, Chef, Puppet, etc.)
- Experience monitoring production systems (eg: DataDog, Prometheus, etc)
- Experience with cloud High Availability, Fault-tolerance, Disaster Recovery, CI/CD and automation
- Experience with PostgreSQL and Redis
- Problem-solving attitude and team spirit
- A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks
- Self-motivated and able to be trusted with a high level of autonomy
- Excellent communication skills
- Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent work experience
Nice to have:
- Blockchain P2P Node and Networking Fundamentals
- Established connections within the crypto community
- Experience with blockchain node software (eg: Geth, Erigon)
- Masters of Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent work experience
