Role Overview

Cryptocurrency has come a long way since Bitcoin’s genesis block. From the emergence of Ethereum to the rise of the decentralized finance sector and the breakthrough of nonfungible tokens, the blockchain and cryptocurrency sector continues to evolve at a rapid pace.

This role provides an opportunity to become the voice that reports on all the emerging trends and educates the public on why they will shape the future. We are looking for someone who can make technology easy to understand and be the go-to person working on behalf of Cointelegraph’s editorial team to spread its content on social media.

The position is fully remote, but the successful applicant must be a native speaker of English. The Editorial Social Media Coordinator reports to the Editor-in-Chief, Managing Editor.

Responsibilities

  • Be part of the editorial team, attend key meetings, and work together with news editors and writers to stay on top of the daily flow of content
  • Have a strategic mind to come up with a plan of action for each platform and report on the results on a consistent basis
  • Take on the role of a bridge between the editorial and social media teams and have organizational experience to distribute the workflow among the smm team
  • Stay aware of the editorial calendar and agenda and prepare social media coverage for conferences and special projects in advance
  • Learn and implement the company’s approach to social media and promote content produced by all editorial departments across our major social media platforms
  • Take responsibility for personal social media pages belonging to key members of the editorial team
  • Engage with the community and gather feedback from the public for the editorial team to utilize
  • Reach out to sources on social media at the request of the editorial team

requirements

  • Ability to learn on the fly and keep track of day-to-day news flow and discussions
  • Deep knowledge of the cryptocurrency industry, especially of the latest emerging trends
  • Expert English writing and editing skills
  • Work well within a team and possess organization skills
  • Flexibility to adjust working hours as required

Required qualifications

  • Experience with creating high-quality copy under time constraints
  • Knowledge of how the various cryptocurrency platforms and products are built and function
  • Having a free-flowing writing style with a healthy dose of sensible humor
  • Be able to switch gears quickly for assignments that require immediate attention
