Azuro is an infrastructure/liquidity layer for on-chain betting. It utilizes a new Liquidity Pool design, the Liquidity Tree, which creates and maintains market liquidity.

Azuro enters the space with the mission to break down the barriers, creating a protocol dependent on community participation and ownership.

Azuro’s solution revolves around two important new pillars — importing odds & results via oracles, and utilizing 1 main liquidity pool, from where liquidity is allocated to different events based on popularity. 

Azuro is meant to become critical infrastructure concentrating liquidity for decentralized betting and gambling. We hope that the decentralized ownership and governance of this powerful infrastructure will not only lead to great benefits for its operators, but to a fairer and more fun betting world for the users.

Azuro supports thousands of sports markets & other games, plus a rich feature set, which can be utilized by anyone permissionlessly for the creation of various apps, embedded integrations or derivative products.

History

Betting has been around for thousands of years. A bet is one of the first forms of contract used by people. Today online betting is monopolized by centralized entities. Many use their unchecked control over users’ funds to prey on and manipulate their userbase. They take the lion’s share of the profits, and it is nearly impossible for any outsider to take part in the business of betting. 

At the same time - the human desire to take risk for a potential gain is getting bigger and is more widespread than ever. A generation of degens within and outside of crypto is upon the world.

Azuro Protocol is an open source public-domain software including a set of smart contracts, written in Solidity that can be deployed on the Ethereum Blockchain, and/or other blockchains. In June, 2022 Azuro V1 was launched on Gnosis Chain, an Ethereum sister chain. Azuro V2 was launched in February, 2023 on Gnosis Chain and Polygon Mainnet.
