Who is eligible to apply?

Purpose:
The Nym Community Grants Program is designed to provide financial support and resources to individuals and teams who are passionate about building privacy-focused solutions and want to leverage the Nym tech stack.
Whether you're an experienced developer, a creative designer, or an enthusiastic researcher, this program offers an opportunity for you to turn your ideas into reality and make a lasting impact on the Nym ecosystem.
Join us in building a more resilient and privacy-conscious world!
Focus:
During the initial program batches, we will introduce specific Request for Proposals (RFPs) that we encourage our community members to participate in as we will prioritize them for funding. Additionally, we will request grantees to prioritize content creation through our “Open Grants”, particularly in enhancing our documentation and contributing to the Shipyard Academy.
Program Structure:
Our grants program operates on a rolling basis, allowing for continuous submissions and review of grant applications throughout the year. We believe in providing flexibility and ongoing opportunities for individuals and teams to participate in the program.
Selection and evaluation criteria
As part of our grants program, we have, through the community grants application form, established specific criteria that will be thoroughly evaluated by our team for every application received. We are committed to conducting a comprehensive review of each submission to ensure fairness and impartiality.
Please make sure you fill out the form correctly to increase your chances of support!
Application Guidelines
Generally, your project will have better chances to be accepted if:
- It presents a well-researched or tested concept, for which ideally you are able to show some prior work.
- You can demonstrate that the project will be maintained after completion of the grant, be it through an obvious commitment to the technology from your side, additional funding sources or an existing business model.
- Your team has proven experience with the relevant languages and technologies and/or a strong technical background. You will be asked to provide the GitHub profiles of your team members as part of your application, which we will examine these for past activity and code quality. Naturally, you can also link to projects on other platforms.
- Your application is rich in technical details and well-defined.
- You can clearly present how your project stands out among competitors or implements technology that doesn't exist in the ecosystem yet.
